TestimonialsLike most first time mums and dads we went crazy with the camera, but deep down knew that we would never have the time to trawl through all the shots. Having this film made has given us a beautiful little time capsule of Olivia. The process was so easy and enjoyable and the results so rewarding that I’m sure we’ll do it again for her second birthday.February 2009, Olivia’s Mother, Sumner, New Zealand The Your Story team did a wonderful job capturing Harry enjoying his regular Sunday rugby. I loved my rugby when I was young and seeing my son enjoying it too was really heart-warming. The Your Story team were very well organised made everything happen very smoothly. Filming at home was relaxed and fun and Harry chatted away quite merrily. I can’t wait to show Harry the film again when he’s 18 and playing for the England “A’s” – well, we can hope. February 2009, Harry’s Father, Bath, England My Grandfather was a great character with a fascinating life story and an extensive collection of old photos in scattered boxes and albums. I wanted to find a way to bring all that together and a Your Story film seemed the ideal way to go about it. I found the result to be very powerful and moving, especially the way it was set to music. All in all it’s a beautiful testament to ‘Bill’ that will keep his memory alive for a long time to come in a way those hidden photos would never have achieved by themselves. February 2009, Kate, Hampshire, England I wanted a short film to present a different view of myself as a practicing artist - you can say a lot in a couple of minutes and convey a real flavour of who you are and what you do in a video - and it’s a very contemporary means of communication which feels good to be a part of. I found the experience of being filming quite nerve-wracking but it’s amazing what can be achieved by skilful editing and it feels like an additional means of promoting myself. It’s easier to send this off than approach galleries directly so it will hopefully be a useful publicity tool. Making the film was a lovely experience. Jacqui and Kate work really well as a team and know how to get you talking. I can’t say it feels natural talking to a camera but I love the bits where I’m drawing and they zoom in on the marks I’m making and the way the camera pans across the paintings as if you are moving around inside them. They took a lot of care to make sure I got to say, show and do what I wanted and they were very respectful of my home and restored everything that they moved back to its former glory: all in all a great experience!
